May 7, 2013 – More collision centers in the National Rule areas of North America are now using PPG Automotive Refinish waterborne products than in low-VOC regulated areas.

The announcement was made at the 61st annual Detroit Autorama held at Cobo Hall in downtown Detroit.

March 27, 2013 – Gipe Automotive, Inc., has been named the PPG 2012 Platinum Distributor of the Year. The announcement was made by Bob Wenzinger, director of the PPG Platinum Distributor program, during the awards banquet at the annual PPG Platinum Distributor Conference held February 14-17, at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona.

March 14, 2013 – A special recognition dinner is planned for March 19, in Orlando, Florida, to honor Toyota of Orlando as the recipient of the 2012 Toyota Certified Collision Center Triple Crown Award.

January 22, 2013 – PPG Automotive Refinish today announced that 10,000 distributor partners have now participated in PPG’s Distributor Business Development Program courses.

January 3, 2013 –PPG Automotive Refinish has expanded its popular PPG Global Refinish System® line with the addition of two new versatile, reduced-gloss clearcoats—D8115 Matte and D8117 Semi-Gloss. The new clearcoats make up the innovative PPG Global Matte Clearcoat System and are formulated to allow a wide range of low gloss finish levels.

January 3, 2013 – PPG Commercial Coatings has introduced ALK28-901, a factory-packaged, 2.8 VOC alkyd enamel intended for general industrial use. The new black topcoat is economical, fast-drying and suitable for trailers, metal fabrications, castings, cabinets, machinery and heavy equipment.

November 8, 2012 – As part of an ongoing community outreach program, PPG Automotive Refinish business development manager Steve Topczewski and elite painters Jeremy Seanor and Jason Lutton went to Hudson Middle School, Hudson, Ohio, on October 19, and spent the day providing eighth grade students with an insider’s look at automotive refinish color and technology.
