Career Path:
Before joining PPG Industries Kimya Ltd., I worked for a worldwide leader in transportation & logistics markets. During this period, I was a system administrator, offering support on various NT systems. From this experience, I learned to quickly analyze situation. 

I joined PPG in 2000 as IT supervisor in Turkey. In 2002, I joined the Oracle team in Paris as Business Analyst for Costing. Between 2004 and 2006 I was part of and managed the Oracle Europe SBU support team in London. Late 2006, early 2007, I managed IT integration of the PMC/Ameron acquisition in the Netherlands and UK. Afterwards, I was the IT BBR project manager, responsible for the IT deliverables of the project for almost 3 years.

Career Highlight:
When PPG offered me the position in Europe as Business Analyst for Costing in 2002, it was a big challenge and opportunity for me. It was very important for me, if I wasn’t successful, I wouldn’t get next position.
 
Another career highlight for me is the BBR IT Manager position.  It gave the opportunity to meet all the Europe business team and implement PPG standard tools whole Europe for almost 3 years.

Why I Like Working for PPG:
There are lots of reasons for me why I like working for PPG but main ones are:
• The people here are the best. All really highly educated people and they're all very supportive. It feels like a family -- almost like an extension of home.
• PPG gives priority and importance of employee ‘Coaching and Development that covers exploration of career development and personal growth issues. PPG helps employees align their personal strengths with their job roles and responsibilities in order to increase their effectiveness and enhance their satisfaction.
• PPG never lets people to get bored, always provides opportunities and challenges to the employees.
• Leadership is very important for me and our leaders are good examples for us. We follow them with admiration.

Current Position:
I develop and support internal and external PPG applications in both the web environment and on the BizTalk platform. This entails working with project teams and the business units to develop applications for PPG customers as well as internal PPG employees.

Career Path:
I started in the Enterprise Application Services group working in the Development Competency Center as a Programmer/Analyst. I have remained in that group but have moved from working solely in .Net technologies to supporting and developing BizTalk applications.

Career Highlight:
Although I have been with PPG for less than 2 years, I have had the opportunity to work on some critical projects. Some of these include the Descartes Transportation Management application that handles shipping logistics for many of our business units and the IT Billing Project which handles the financial aspect of IT services. I enjoy working for PPG because of the wide range of opportunities that are available. I am exposed to many different technologies and in the ever-changing world of IT, I have the option of moving in one of many different directions in my career, all without having to look outside of the company.

Why I Like Working for PPG:
I joined PPG looking for opportunities and challenges to establish and further my career and over the last five plus years have been fortunate to hold roles in both a European and Global capacity. Each role has enabled me to perform and grow as an individual and provided me with the prospects I have been seeking, opening doors at the end of each to lead to the next role.
Working for a corporation like PPG has presented many opportunities of travel, working with a diversity of people from different cultures and backgrounds. This has been a tremendous learning experience in building trust and relationships with different teams,  understanding cultures and markets, to harmoniously cater providing to everyone’s needs in the systems we develop.
In over 5 years I have formed an invaluable network across the IT function as well as the Refinish business. I have benefitted working with the vast array of colleagues both locally and globally and learning from the experience of senior colleagues. I have also enjoyed mentoring and guiding team members, in turn to develop their careers which I find very rewarding. I also am enabled to work autonomously, being responsible and accountable for my own work, knowing that my senior management is there to support me and offer development opportunities in recognition for the work I do. I have found that working for PPG, even as large as it is there is a real open environment for my contributions to be valued and heard, in turn for to make a real difference.
