Research and Development Diversity Council
ABOUT US The R&D Diversity Council is composed of PPG employees at different levels of the organization from various functional areas with diverse backgrounds. The R&D Council Chair is the Vice President, Science of Technology.
The R&D Diversity Council was established in 1999. It is a cooperative effort between the Pittsburgh R&D locations (Allison Park, Harmar Twp, Springdale and Monroeville), representing PPG's Coatings, Chemicals, Fiber Glass, and Glass businesses.
THE R&D MISSION The goal of this council is to create an inclusive work place environment that maximizes the potential of all employees by fostering learning and development, addressing life issues and removing productivity barriers.

Education and Communication Team
Mission: "We are committed to supporting the R&D Diversity Council efforts by communicating internal and external activities that educate employees and encourage diversity in the workplace."

Professional Networking Team
Mission: "Professional networking fosters the opportunity for people with diverse backgrounds and interests to promote professional growth and interact in an atmosphere of support where one can openly communicate, exchange and generate ideas."

Minority Networking Team
Mission: "The Minority Networking Subcommittee mission is to support the R&D Diversity Council in creating an inclusive workplace environment which maximizes the potential of all employees, supports learning, career advancement, communication and removes barriers to personal and professional development."

Mission: "To identify issues, recommend changes and provide employees with the information and support needed to balance their work and life situations while meeting the organizational performance goals."
