PPG Glass Highlights AIA Environmental Award Winners

The Terry Thomas, an office building in Seattle that features Solarban 70XL glass by PPG, was named one of the top ten green building projects for 2009 by the American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) Committee on the Environment (COTE).  In fact, four of the ten 2009 award winners are clad in PPG architectural glass, as were six from 2008.

Solarban 70XL glass is the signature product in an industry-leading line of solar control, low-e Solarban glasses that help buildings save energy by cutting their two largest sources of consumption.  In addition to transmitting high levels of natural light to reduce reliance on artificial lighting, Solarban glasses block solar heat to lessen the need for air-conditioning and temperature control.
