PPG's Corporate Social Responsibility mirrors the values of PPG to achieve business success with strong values and uncompromised ethical standards. It also mirrors PPG by growing globally both in direct grant giving and employee programs. While growing globally, Corporate Social Responsibility must remain focused, coordinated and strategic. Identifying national and global business segment industry opportunities for funding will advance the reputation of PPG.

The objective of PPG's Corporate Social Responsibility is the enhancement of the quality of life in those communities where PPG Industries has a major presence throughout the world by means of grant making and community involvement. The strategic interests in this regard of PPG include in order of priority:
  • Education - promotion of academic excellence and preparation of the next generation of leaders in business, science and technology.
  • Human Services - United Ways, community-based fundraisers, and the volunteer process they represent are the preferred means of providing resources to people in need; grants for hospitals and medical research continue to be limited.
  • Cultural and Arts - increased accessibility for all people through intervention and outreach programs.
  • Civic and Community Affairs - environmental education, community and economic development and promotion of a progressive civic environment.
