Valuing diversity creates opportunities for everyone.

At PPG Architectural Coatings, we believe that we become a stronger, more competitive company by fostering a climate that recognizes the value of a diverse workforce. We can then realize our full potential, not only as a company, but as individuals.

In 2009, PPG Architectural Coatings established an Organizational Effectiveness Council to focus on driving value-added diversity initatives.  We recognized that to provide excellent customer service we needed to have an engaged workforce that was reflective of our customer base with regard to gender and ethnicity.  Specific project teams have been established to build our employment brand that will help us attract, retain and develop more female and Spanish speaking bilingual employees.  PPGArchitectual Coatings has also embarked on an employee engagement initiative to identify opportunities to make us a more inclusive organization.  We don't just talk about diversity, we embrace it!   

The Organizational Effectiveness Council works closely with PPG's global councils such as the Diversity Leadership Council, the Women's Leadership Council and the Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual, and Transgender Council who are tasked with drafting and implementing respective policies and programs in the areas of Leadership, Accountability, Recruitment, Engagement, Development/Succession Planning, and Communications.
