Organisation
The AC EMEA part of the PPG Coatings Deutschland GmbH employs about 90 people in Germany. This includes the R&D Center of Excellence for Dispersion Wall paints, Colour Design Studio, Sigmamix-Tinting-Service, Sigma-Application-Center, the state of the art training-center “TrendWerk” for professional painters, sales and technical department in Bochum and a group of specialized sales representatives all over Germany, plus a local sales office in Berlin.


The trade organization services only the professional market (especially paint wholesalers) in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with the brand Sigma Coatings. The broad assortment of Sigma Coatings products consists of interior and exterior dispersion wallpaints and plasters as well as lacquers, glazes and woodstains. Sigma INDURIN, Sigma AMAROL as well as the Sigma AQUADUR- and Sigma SILOXAN-system have long-term successful history and are well established in the market.

Sustainability
The professional disposal of our paint cans all over Germany is one of the long-term arrangements in respect of reducing the environmental impact of the company activities. PPG Coatings Deutschland GmbH has been cooperating for years already with accredited recycling and waste management partners throughout Germany in order to offer recycling options to our customers.

Since April 2009 the company is working to implement the EU VOC legislation and further reduce volatile organic compounds in solvent based paints and lacquers or even offer VOC free alternatives. Main target is to reduce the VOC-emissions for health and environmental reasons. As a part of our activities to reduce VOC all colour-dispensers at trading partners are changed to the new tinting-system “ Sigmamix Absolut” which combines improved colour-paste technology with a up-to-date dosing equipment.

As forward looking company PPG Coatings Deutschland GmbH enables their trading partners to make use of a tremendous advantage in their market using innovative products that represent our respect of the environment. Examples: Sigma Indurin Shield with NPS-technology is a longer-lasting stain-resistant façade paint, Sigma Immun reduces bacteria in compartment air i.e. in hospitals and Sigma Siloxan NOx façade paint catalytically reduces air pollution caused by automobiles.
