PPG internal and external coatings meet the requirements of metal packaging in a range of shapes, sizes and configurations, from shoe paste and breath mint tins to cookie and biscuit tins to lubricant and paint cans.
Coatings are designed for maximum coverage and ease of application to standard flat sheets.
For external application, PPG makes primer/sizing coatings and non-yellowing white base coats in modified acrylic chemistry with good ink acceptance.
High-gloss varnish topcoats are designed for wet-on-wet application and afford maximum protection to the metal and decorative inks. Formulations are available in alkyd, acrylic, polyester chemistry to meet customer requirements.
A new UV-curable varnish affords an especially high gloss finish and excellent abrasion resistance.
