New hires are responsible for providing basic technological and engineering support to the plant's facilities, equipment, production processes, and products to provide continuous improvement in the areas of safety, quality, and value. Training is provided on the job with progressively more challenging assignments and responsibilities as the individual demonstrates his or her ability to progress. New hires will learn to plan, organize and direct engineering project work by enlisting sound engineering and business practices.
New hires will be placed in one of our US manufacturing locations or research centers. Locations vary by hiring year. After initial assignment, trainees are likely placed into a role with continued responsibility at that location or can apply for additional opportunities that may exist at other locations through our internal job posting system, PPG Careers.

Subsequent assignments include larger or more challenging projects dependent on the progress demonstrated in the initial year. New hires are developed to take on supervisory, management or other leadership roles throughout their careers as a result of demonstrated success by the employee.
