HUMAN RESOURCES
HR new hires are responsible for supporting both a union and non-unionized workforce dependent on starting location. This includes labor relations issues, training and development, compensation, recruitment and retention.

INITIAL ASSIGNMENT
On-the-job training over a 9-12-month period in a manufacturing plant HR department.
Exposure to the following areas as practical:
Employment (selection, EEO, Affirmative Action)
Benefits Administration
Industrial Relations (complaint handling, employee discipline, contract/handbook administration)
Salary Administration (job descriptions, evaluations and area surveys)
Performance Management Systems
Training and Development
Employee/Community Relations
Safety, Health and Security (depending on location)
CAREER PATHS
Future HR career paths include: Human Resources Assistant or Personnel Supervisor at a manufacturing plant. The goal is to develop our HR new hires into Human Resources Managers within 5 to 10 years if the employee demonstrates the ability and potential.
