|My PPG Career:
||In 2006, I began my career at PPG as a Marketing Intern with the Construction Market Team. Upon graduation from Penn State in 2008 I was hired as an Industrial Coatings Sales Trainee based out of PPG’s Euclid, OH facility. In February 2009, I was assigned my Industrial Coatings sales territory with responsibility in Western PA, Ohio, IN and WV. In April 2010, I moved to Pittsburgh to pursue my most recent position with the International Logistics Team handling U.S. import operations. |
|My Current Job:
||I’m responsible for assisting the SBU’s with all Imports into the U.S., managing PPG’s U.S. Customs Brokers, helping maintain PPG’s certification in the U.S. Customs Importer Self Assessment Program and ensuring all import related recordkeeping requirements are met.|
|What do you find challenging in your work?
||Having a corporate role at PPG requires that I familiarize myself with the business unit’s unique processes. With each SBU’s complexity it can be challenging at times to understand their different processes and needs. Meeting their needs and addressing issues quickly is essential to be successful in my position.|
|What do you enjoy about working at PPG?
||Every day I am fortunate to have the opportunity to interact with all of the SBU’s and numerous PPG Supplier locations around the world. Whether it’s to track down documents needed to clear U.S. Customs or providing training – It’s always something new and challenging. Working with the different functional groups also provides insight to how their business operates and helps me grow professionally through interactions with individuals in various positions. With PPG’s diverse mix of businesses, I have been given the chance to move across SBU’s and functions without having to move to a new company. |
