MIL-DTL-53039 Type I coating are 3.5 VOC, single component moisture cure aliphatic polyurethane chemical agent resistant coatings (CARC) for military vehicles and equipment. They can be effectively decontaminated after exposure to chemical and biological warfare agents and provide visual and infrared camouflage to military vehicles and equipment.

The MIL-DTL-53039 Type III coatings have polymeric flattening agent and are single component moisture cure aliphatic polyurethane chemical agent resistant coatings (CARC) for use on military vehicles and equipment. They can be effectively decontaminated after exposure to chemical warfare agents and provide visual and infrared camouflage to military vehicles and equipment. They may be used in areas where the maximum VOC level of 1.5 lbs./gal. (180 g./liter) are in force. They are applied over epoxy primers which include: MIL-P-23377, MIL-DTL-53022, MIL-DTL-53030, and MIL-P-85582.
