Classic Blues – Always Strike the Right Chord

Two new stunning blue tints from PPG – Pacifica™ glass and Solarblue™ glass – are available with subtly reflective and traditional reflective coatings to provide architects with five distinct aesthetic options. Architects seeking optimum environmental performance can obtain Pacifica and Solarblue glasses with high-performance Solarban® 70XL or Solarban® 60 solar control, low-e coatings on the second surface.

With the addition of Pacifica and Solarblue glasses, PPG offers the industry’s broadest selection of tints.

Pacifica™ Glass

Pacifica glass adds to the Oceans of Color® collection of nautically inspired tints. Architects can take advantage of two additional aesthetic options by using Pacifica glass with reflective Solarcool™ or subtly reflective, color-enriched Vistacool™ coatings. Combined with Solarban 70XL solar control, low-e glass in a one-inch insulating glass unit, Pacifica glass can reach a SHGC of .18 with a VLT of 30%, which produces a light to solar gain (LSG) ratio of 1.63.

Solarblue™ Glass

Part of PPG’s Earth & Sky collection, Solarblue is a stunning new glass that combines desirable visible light transmittance and a light, mellow blue that can achieve a LSG ratio of 1.84, including VLT of 40% and a SHGC of .21, with Solarban 70XL glass in a one-inch IGU.
