Thermal Stress Analysis
Breakage of glass components occurs most often when there is variation in temperature between the center of the glass and its edges. As the sun heats the center of the glass, it expands. However, glazing systems that are captured in the edges of the glass panels tend to keep cool. As a result, stress occurs, which can lead to breakage.
PPG’s Thermal Stress Analysis can give you a guideline as to which PPG architectural glass will perform best for you, based on the design input of your project.
Conduct a Thermal Stress Analysis to determine which PPG glass is right for your next project.
