Lloyd’s Glass Starts Operations Quickly Using GTS Services Software, LX-Online


PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 19, 2005 – Recovering from a hurricane is difficult, but Lloyd’s Glass was able to get back on its feet quickly after Hurricane Katrina with Internet-based glass-industry software from GTS Services.


Based in New Orleans, Lloyd’s Glass had shifted recently to Internet-based technology access for its GTS Services business software, as opposed to installations on every shop’s hard drives.  This provided flexible access to information any time, anywhere, as long as employees could access the Internet.


Tee Cambre, owner, Lloyd’s Glass, said, "Last year after Hurricane Ivan took us out, we decided to switch to GlasPacLX online, with GTS hosting all of our computer hardware.  When Katrina hit, we were able to get back up and running in just a few days.  Dislocated employees could access information and work from any Internet connection, as long as they had power and access the World Wide Web.” 


Because they used GTS Services LX Online, Lloyd’s Glass business system operations and records weren’t tied to New Orleans.  After Katrina hit, the company decided to move its base of operations to Orlando, Fla.  All customer data and financial history was securely stored offsite with GTS-hosted services.  That meant Lloyd’s Glass was able to resume business quickly and efficiently with all information available.  Once in the new headquarters, the business got back up and running.
