PPG names Sinetar vice president, architectural coatings


PITTSBURGH, March 27, 2006 – Scott Sinetar, general manager of sales and marketing for architectural coatings, has been named vice president, architectural coatings, North America, PPG Industries officials announced today. Sinetar replaces Richard A. Beuke, who was named to the new position of vice president, growth initiatives, for the company. Both assignments are effective April 1.

Sinetar joined PPG as a regional sales manager in 1989 as part of the company’s acquisition of Olympic stains and paints. He progressed to become manager, national accounts, and in 1996 was appointed director of North American sales for architectural coatings. In 2001 he was appointed general manager of the north and west regions for the architectural coatings business, and in 2004 he was appointed to his current position.

Additionally, Andrew G. Maguire, general manager, corporate marketing and communications, has been appointed general manager of marketing for the architectural coatings business, also effective April 1. He joined PPG in 2003 in his current position. Before PPG, Maguire was an employee of and a consultant to the H.J. Heinz Company in a variety of marketing and general management roles.

In his new position, Beuke will be responsible for cross-business unit growth and the company’s sales capabilities. He joined PPG in 1976 as an industrial coatings sales representative based in Oak Creek, Wis., and advanced through a series of sales and marketing positions before being named director of purchasing at PPG’s Pittsburgh headquarters in 1994. He was appointed general manager of silica products in 1997 and elected vice president, architectural coatings, in early 2000.
