PPG appoints Bogdan as Manager, Green Building Initiatives

PITTSBURGH, Jan. 17, 2007 – In response to market demands for environmentally-friendly building products, PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) has named James J. Bogdan manager, sustainable design and green building initiatives. In this newly-created post, he will accelerate PPG’s growth in the commercial construction market and position PPG as a premier provider of glass, coatings and paints to the “green” construction industry.

Bogdan will act as a conduit between practitioners of sustainable design and PPG’s performance glazings, architectural coatings and industrial coatings businesses. He will serve the sustainable design community by identifying new green building trends and opportunities and translating them into new PPG products and services for architects, designers and construction professionals.

Bogdan joins PPG after a 15-year career in the environmental, health and safety industry, having performed EH&S consulting and marketing with the architectural/engineering firm of L. Robert Kimball & Associates, Inc., and international safety product manufacturer Draeger Safety, Inc.

A graduate of Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania, Bogdan also holds a master’s degree in environmental management from Duquesne University. He also is a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) through the Institute of Professional Environmental Practice (IPEP).
