PPG Aerospace names Wright military transparencies platform business manager

SYLMAR, Calif., Sept. 20, 2007 – PPG Industries’ (NYSE: PPG) aerospace business has named Brent Wright platform business manager for military transparencies, succeeding Chuck Seagle, who retired. Wright is based in Sylmar, Calif.

Wright had been military transparencies marketing manager since 2001, when he joined Sierracin/Sylmar Corp., which PPG acquired in 2006. A Grapevine, Texas, native, he has nearly two decades of experience in the aircraft transparency industry, and he has held positions in procurement, information technology, program management, sales and marketing, and business development. He earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Utah and an MBA from Texas Christian University.

Seagle had been with Sierracin/Sylmar since 1988 and was Vice President of Military Programs. He was named PPG Global Director for Military Transparencies earlier this year. Seagle led design, development and testing for the F-15 aircraft’s 650-knot bird-strike windshield and frame assembly and F/A-18 aircraft’s 500-knot bird-strike windshield and frame assembly at Sierracin/Sylmar. A Marion, N.C., native, he served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Texas A&M University.
