PPG pledges $10,000 to Liberty Community Center

Funding supports campaign to improve center’s safety, appearance

DELAWARE, Ohio, April 1, 2008 –
PPG Industries Foundation has pledged $10,000 to Liberty Community Center to support its Capital Improvement Campaign.

"We are very pleased to receive support from PPG for our Capital Improvement Campaign," said Shannon Nagy, executive director, Liberty Community Center. "The funding will help us to improve our heating and air-conditioning system, which are needed urgently, and to complete additional updates that will make the center safer and more usable for all our services."

Liberty Community Center offers high quality, affordable early childhood day care and preschool programs to a diverse ethnic and economic group of families, and its programs are licensed by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and the Ohio Department of Education. It also serves as a community meeting place for many groups in the Delaware area.

Carl Johnson, North America director of refinish manufacturing, based at PPG’s automotive refinish paint manufacturing facility in Delaware, and a Liberty Community Center board member, said, “PPG is strongly committed to supporting the communities where its employees work and live. We are proud to support Liberty Community Center in its efforts to provide a safer, better environment for the many children and other Delaware residents it serves.”
