PPG 2008 Import Color Information Book released

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio, April 22, 2008 – PPG Industries' (NYSE: PPG) automotive refinish business today introduced its all-new 2008 Import Color Information Book, which complements the previously released 2008 Domestic Color Information Book. Together, the books provide comprehensive coverage of vehicles being repaired in the United States today.

The book uses PPG’s exclusive SideView Window format, which provides an open window adjacent to each color chip. The SideView Window format – which also can be found in the 2008 Domestic Color Information Book – enables users to place a color chip page over any part of a vehicle to identify the OEM code that best matches the required repair. In addition, both books feature color chips mounted on special gray paper that improves a technician’s ability to see subtle differences between similar colors. Information regarding the location of paint codes is found on the motor manufacturer tab pages.

Mike Henry, manager, color print and electronic tools for PPG Automotive Refinish, said, “One of the most critical processes that occurs in a body shop is color identification, and PPG is dedicated to continuously improving the color tools we offer. Our customers told us what they wanted, and we responded with a world-class, user-friendly tool that will help technicians find colors accurately and efficiently.”

To obtain a copy of the 2008 Import Color Information Book or to learn more about PPG color identification tools, contact a local PPG distributor after June 2. Visit www.ppgrefinish.com to find a local distributor, or call the PPG Customer Focus Center at 800-647-6050.
