PPG names Wagner general manager, industrial coatings, Americas

PITTSBURGH, May 20, 2008 – PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) announced the appointment of Gregory C. Wagner to the position of general manager, industrial coatings, Americas, effective May 1. He reports to William A. Wulfsohn, senior vice president, coatings.

In 1979, Wagner joined PPG as a production employee at the Delaware, Ohio, coatings facility. After earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Miami University, he returned to PPG in 1984 as an industrial coatings sales representative. Wagner progressed through various PPG management roles in sales, marketing, product development and operations, moving to Paris in 1999 as director, industrial coatings, Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

In 2004, Wagner was appointed general manager, industrial coatings, Europe, and shortly thereafter he relocated to Cincinnati as general manager, packaging coatings, Americas.

In his new role, Wagner is working at both PPG’s Milford, Ohio, facility and its Pittsburgh headquarters.
