Hosley earns LEED-AP accreditation

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 8, 2009 – PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) announced that Mary Hosley, architecture manager, architectural finishes, has earned the LEED-AP (accredited professional) credential from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

James J. Bogdan, PPG manager, green building initiatives, construction market team, said Hosley’s accreditation further strengthens PPG’s LEED support network, which provides architects and general contractors with LEED documentation support and helps engineers, fabricators, applicators and other PPG customer-suppliers to understand how LEED rating systems relate to their products.

“We are pleased that Mary has earned her LEED-AP accreditation,” Bogdan said. “PPG is committed to providing architects and our customers and suppliers with the resources they need to promote sustainable building, and Mary’s efforts are an important example of that commitment.”

Hosley, who joined PPG in 2006, assists large architectural firms in New York City with specifying and sourcing PPG architectural glass, coatings and paint. She has more than 35 years of experience in direct sales and architectural business development, and she is a past president of the Metropolitan New York Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI).

Hosley joins a focused group of PPG LEED-AP staff members, such as Bob Schrock, a PPG architect manager serving the Midwest region who recently earned his LEED-AP credential.
