PPG appoints Benckart general manager, refinish USCA
STRONGSVILLE, Ohio, Feb. 5, 2010 – PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) has announced that Gregory Benckart has been appointed general manager, automotive refinish USCA, with responsibility for PPG’s automotive refinish business in North America, effective March 1. Benckart is currently general manager, sales and marketing North America, automotive refinish. He will continue to work at the PPG Automotive Refinish headquarters in Strongsville and to report to John R. Outcalt.
Benckart has worked for PPG for more than 29 years in sales and marketing positions of increasing responsibility, serving in roles such as manager of distribution for fiber glass reinforcements, director of marketing for OEM automotive glass, director of sales for chlor-alkali, and general manager for fiber glass. He was named to his current position in June 2009.
Greg earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the College of Wooster and a Master of Business Administration degree from Vanderbilt University.
