Designers partner with PPG PITTSBURGH PAINTS to launch in-home, commercial color consultation program

My Voice of Color program connects Sacramento home, business owners with professional color consultations

SACRAMENTO, Calif., May 2, 2011 – The PPG PITTSBURGH PAINTS(TM) brand and Warehouse Paint joined with local interior designers to launch My Voice of Color – a new resource that connects Sacramento-area PPG-color-certified interior designers with both residential and commercial customers for a one-hour in-home or -business design consultation.

“With nearly 2,000 colors, finding the perfect hue for your home or décor for your commercial space can be overwhelming. And finding and hiring the right interior designer can be an intimidating process,” said Dee Schlotter, brand manager, THE VOICE OF COLOR(R) program. “My Voice of Color is an exciting new tool that makes finding and hiring an interior designer quick, easy and affordable, so home and business owners can get the professional assistance they need to choose the perfect color.”

Home and business owners can begin by visiting www.myvoiceofcolor.com/Sacramento to view a list of interior designers who have completed a specialized PPG home and commercial space design and color training program. Visitors to the website can read bios of interior designers and view a portfolio of both residential and commercial sample designs. In addition to the website, homeowners can also visit any of the 11 Warehouse Paint locations to learn more about My Voice of Color designers.

Once home or commercial space owners choose an interior designer that fits their style, they can schedule a one-hour “house call” color consult for only $75. “This is an excellent value – we provide top-notch color expertise for a reasonable rate through My Voice of Color,” Schlotter said. “Typically interior designers can charge upwards of $150 an hour. This is a great way for consumers to receive direction and feedback from true professionals on their color and design ideas, and ultimately a way for them to feel confident in their color selection.” The designer arrives at the consumer’s home or business for the one-on-one, hour-long consultation with a color toolkit that includes palette samples and images for inspiration. In addition, those who book a consultation also receive a $50 coupon for PPG Pittsburgh Paints products.

“With thousands of paint colors to choose from, finding the perfect color that works in your home or business can be challenging,” said Brinda Jansen, Warehouse Paint owner. “Many people think that they must have an unlimited budget to hire a designer, but that is simply not the case with this program from PPG Pittsburgh Paints. My Voice of Color simplifies this process, providing home and business owners with personalized, expert design services to create the perfect residential or commercial space."

My Voice of Color is available in the Sacramento region at PPG Pittsburgh Paints dealer Warehouse Paint locations. PPG employs more than 20 color stylists around the world, each specializing in different markets, who collaborate to determine styles and color trends for the home, electronics, and automobiles. PPG’s position as a color leader in multiple markets enables it to observe and translate emerging global color trends for its customers’ applications – from consumer goods to automotive color, from residential to commercial to industrial design.

PPG Pittsburgh Paints and PPG PORTER PAINTS(TM) developed The Voice of Color program on the premise that every color has an emotional association and that individuals are drawn to different colors for reasons inherently tied to their personalities. With more than 2,000 colors in all, the program provides signature five-color decorating color chips to assist homeowners in choosing colors for all the décor elements in their spaces. The Voice of Color program is an integrated, comprehensive design system that offers tools and materials to redefine the world of color. Through an engaging online experience, homeowners can identify their color personalities and find the colors that best suit their styles and senses. Among the elements of The Voice of Color program are the COLOR SENSE GAME(TM) tool, yearly color trend reports, exclusive color families and color palettes such as Hacienda Style and FALLINGWATER(R) inspired colors, unique decorating color chips, a wet paint sample program, and website at www.voiceofcolor.com.
