PPG presented technologies at China (Shanghai) International Optics Fair
SHANGHAI, March 1, 2013 – PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) showcased its portfolio of optical materials and technologies at the China (Shanghai) International Optics Fair 2013 (SIOF 2013), Feb. 26-28, along with hosting a seminar on optical technologies for the second consecutive year. More than 100 eyewear retailers and distributions attend SIOF 2013 to exchange ideas on industry trends and innovations in optical materials and technologies.

Jointly exhibiting with Shanghai Tianhong Optical Co., Ltd., PPG highlighted the performance and advantages of Trivex material and NXT sun lenses in booth 4A07, through a program that includes on-site demonstrations, introduction videos and interactive activities such as trying on glasses and experiencing the test tools.
Following its success last year, PPG hosted a second optical technology seminar during the fair. The seminar offered an opportunity for PPG to engage with attendees and to demonstrate Trivex material and NXT sun lenses, which have won acclaim for their excellent optical performance, wearing comfort and safety.
Also during SIOF 2013, Rick Elias, PPG senior vice president, Optical and Specialty Materials, and Waters explored cooperation opportunities and exchanged ideas with Cui Yi, chairman of the China Optometric and Optical Association (COOA) and director of the China Light Industry Association, on topics such as promoting the healthy development of China's optical industry and addressing challenges facing the industry.
