PPG hails Toyota of Orlando naming as 'Collision Center of the Year'

Customer wins Toyota Certified Collision Center Triple Crown Award

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio, March 14, 2013 – Individuals in PPG Industries' (NYSE:PPG) automotive refinish business will help honor Toyota of Orlando during a special event celebrating the dealer's 2012 Toyota Certified Collision Center Triple Crown Award. A PPG customer, Toyota of Orlando was the top-performing dealer from its sales group of 190 Toyota Certified Collision Center (TCCC) dealers nationwide.

According to Brad Brahe, body shop development manager for Toyota Motor Sales, the award is presented to the three Toyota dealer collision centers (based on sales volume) that best exemplify the spirit of certification. Collision centers are evaluated on a point system based on customer satisfaction; manager, estimator and technician certification; facility and equipment requirements; and other benchmark achievements.

“I attribute our success in the TCCC program to the hard work and focus of our 42 center employees," said Toyota of Orlando collision center manager Scott O’Connor. "In addition, Toyota Motor Sales’ factory training and the ongoing support we receive from our distributor, Southeast Toyota, are world class. We also depend on our business partnerships to help us achieve our goals, and PPG and its MVP program provide us with the ongoing training required to remain competitive in this ever-changing environment. And, of course, the support we receive from Ben’s Paint Supply, our jobber, gives us a valuable advantage in this market.”

Bill Shaw, PPG director of business development, automotive refinish, said, “As one of PPG’s more than 9,000 North American waterborne technology customers, Scott’s leadership shows the results that can be achieved when you embrace lean processes and implementation. Scott embarked on this journey while attending PPG Green Belt Training in the fall of 2010 and has now transformed his operation into the showcase that it is today, and for that we congratulate him.”

Representatives from PPG and Ben’s Paint Supply, a Daytona Beach, Fla.-based PPG Platinum distributor, will present commemorative gifts to all Toyota of Orlando shop personnel during the event.
