The weight-to-strength ratio, impact and corrosion resistance, and non-flammable properties of fiberglass make it suitable for reinforcing aircraft laminates, luggage bins and other composite structures in the aerospace industry. Newer commercial aircraft such as the Airbus A380 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner use lightweight composites, while older planes are replacing traditional materials with lighter fiberglass composites.
