PPG expands Eco-Schools resources for teachers worldwide

This World Teacher’s Day, marked on October 6, 2025, PPG is helping teachers inspire the next generation of environmental leaders. Through a PPG community engagement grant, a suite of new educational materials developed by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE)  is now available for teachers worldwide.

New Eco-Schools resources including three handbooks, online courses and videos – will help teachers worldwide integrate sustainability and climate change education into schools and communities. Eco-Schools encourages young people to engage in their environment by allowing them the opportunity to actively protect it. It starts in the classroom; it expands to the school and eventually fosters change in the community at large.

PPG and FEE

The new resources, unveiled during FEE’s 2025 National Operators Meeting (NOM), expand the reach of Eco-Schools, the world’s largest Education for Sustainable Development program. Available in more than 45 languages, the materials ensure broad accessibility and are already scaling sustainability education to thousands of educators, with the potential to reach more than 30,000 schools, 75,000 teachers and 1 million students worldwide.

FEE is co-coordinator of the UNESCO Greening Education Partnership’s Pillar One on Greening Schools, and is committed to achieving UNESCO’s ambitious goal of accrediting 50% of all schools to a green school scheme by 2030 and doubling the number of countries that include climate education in their curricula. The partnership with FEE is part of PPG’s global commitment to invest $5 million in environmental sustainability education by 2030.

“The urgency for high-quality, accessible, and transformative climate education has never been greater, which is why FEE is proud to partner with PPG to expand Eco-Schools resources for teachers worldwide,” said Daniel Schaffer, FEE CEO. “By equipping educators with practical tools and whole-school approaches, we are pursuing the ambitious goals of the Greening Education Partnership (GEP) and empowering communities to become drivers of sustainable change.”

Schaffer continued, “Teachers are at the heart of this transformation. When they have the right resources, they can ignite curiosity, inspire responsibility and guide young people to take meaningful action for the planet.”
