PPG PR-1826® Class A Rapid Curing Fuel Tank Sealant

PPG PR-1826 Class A sealant is a rapid cure, integral fuel tank sealant with a service range from -80°F to 300°F with short excursions up to 420°F. It maintains excellent elastomeric properties after exposure to jet fuel and aviation gas. This two-part epoxy cured PPG PERMAPOL® P-3 polythioether compound can cure at low temperatures and is applied by brush without dripping.

PPG PR-1826> Class A sealant is a rapid cure, aircraft integral fuel tank sealant. It has a service temperature range from -80°F (62°C) to 300°F (149°C) with intermittent excursions up to 420°F (216°C). PR-1826 Class A sealant is a brushable consistency sealing compound designed for rapid sealing of integral fuel tanks. The cured sealant maintains excellent elastomeric properties after prolonged exposure to both jet fuel and aviation gas. PPG PR-1826 Class A sealant is a two-part epoxy cured PPG Permapol P-3 polythioether compound. The uncured material can be applied by brush in thickness up to 25 mils (0.6 mm) without dripping or flowing from vertical or overhead surfaces. Unlike standard polysulfide fuel tank sealants, it can cure at low temperatures down to 0°F (-18°C) and is unaffected by changes in relative humidity. This sealant has excellent adhesion to common substrates when correctly primed with PPG PR-1826 AP adhesion promoter.
