PPG coatings formulated to meet FGIA/AAMA 2603 provide dependable color and gloss retention for residential and light‑commercial aluminum applications, offering solid resistance to everyday weathering and abrasion. Designed around essential performance attributes—color uniformity, gloss consistency, and basic chemical and impact resistance—these coatings are best suited for interior environments or exterior locations with minimal UV and moisture exposure.
Under the FGIA/AAMA 2603 standard, coatings are expected to maintain their appearance for approximately one year in South Florida’s demanding weather conditions. They are typically based on polyester resin systems and require a minimum dry‑film thickness of about 0.8 mil.
