Celebrating 10 years of the Colorful Communities program

École Publique Mixte d’Estreux
Saultain, France

In June 2025, PPG employees, local community members and partners are coming together to complete a Colorful Communities project at a school in Estreux, near Saultain, France. Over three days, they will transform École Publique Mixte d’Estreux into a bright, inspiring place to learn.

Volunteers will refresh both the inside and outside of the school with vibrant paint and artistic touches that will have a lasting impact on students, staff and families.

Two talented French artists will contribute to the transformation with expressive murals and creative artwork. One of them, Leona Rose, is painting murals that will turn the school into a whimsical, nature-inspired world. Her artwork aims to flow smoothly from one space to the next, using soft, harmonious PPG colors to create a playful and inviting atmosphere.

The murals will feature endangered animals like the marine iguana, blue-throated macaw, chimpanzee, monarch butterfly, snow leopard and a magical polar bear blended with floral designs and gentle patterns. Each piece is meant to inspire joy, curiosity and a deeper connection to nature. One indoor mural will even add a fun twist with bold, outlined shapes that spark imagination.
