Hydroskip exterior replenishable finish is an aero-grade hydrophobic finish that can be safely used on plastic aircraft transparencies. Originally designed to enable fighter jets to safely operate under rainy conditions, it has been adopted by civilian aircraft (e.g., helicopters, business jets and light aircrafts) to enhance visibility under rainy conditions; in some instances, eliminating the need for wipers or air-blow systems . 

Hydroskip hydrophobic finish is unique in that it was formulated by the windshield manufacturer (PPG), so the product’s chemistry is compatible with most plastic substrates and protective coatings used on aero-transparencies. Hydroskip hydrophobic finish has undergone extensive testing to ensure the coating’s durability and compatibility with cast acrylic, stretched acrylic, and coated polycarbonate substrates. It also adheres to ASTM F791 and ASTM484 standards and is fully compliant with REACH regulations.
