Flexible, Low Loss Foam

PPG C-FOAM^® PF is a closed-cell, cross-linked polyethylene flexible foam sheet material with low loss, low dielectric constant and low density. Due to the low dielectric constant and low loss tangent, the material is transparent to electromagnetic energy. The material is ideal for use as dielectric substrates, spacers and as RF transparent radomes.

As a closed-cell foam, water absorption rates are low. The material is weather resistant, and will not crack or degrade in sunlight. The material offers excellent thermal insulation. PPG C-FOAM PF is a soft and flexible material which can be draped over curved surfaces and it can be readily die-cut or cut with a sharp razor knife.

PPG C-FOAM PF is available in two grades, PF-2 and PF-4.

Both PF-2 and PF-4 are available in a standard sheet size of 24 x 24 inches and 48 x 48 inches, in the following thicknesses:

  6.4mm (0.250 inch)
• • PF-4 1.6mm (0.062 inch)
  3.2mm (0.125 inch)
  6.4mm (0.250 inch)
• The material can be supplied in other sizes or per customer specified configurations as a die-cut or water jet cut parts.
• PF foam sheets can also be supplied with a peel-and-stick pressure sensitive adhesive (/PSA) e.g., PF-2/PSA.
