PPG Coatings Services' Cambridge was established in 2001 after being relocated from a facility in Kitchener, Ontario that had been acquired in 1999. Located just three minutes south of Highway 401, 45 minutes west of the Toronto airport and three hours northeast of Detroit, Michigan, USA, this facility is conveniently located for easy drop off/pick up of parts from all directions.

Capabilities:

The Cambridge, Ontario facility contains 158,000 square-feet of production space with 27 shipping and receiving docks. Serving Ontario-area customers, the facility offers high-quality electrocoat (e-coat), powder coat and liquid paint applications. Ideally suited for manufacturers requiring a protective coating to meet the specifications of the automotive, agricultural, industrial, furniture, recreational and truck and bus industries, the facility has been ISO/TS 16949-registered since 2006.

Green Initiative

PPG Coatings Services Cambridge has joined the green initiative, providing refurbishing, reclamation and recycling services for different industries. Our business partners disassemble products that have delivered prolonged service, remove old paint from the metal components; then recoat the product and reattach the refurbished parts. The process saves time and money and yields products that look brand new.

Environmentally Friendly

The Cambridge facility is currently working towards achieving ISO 14001 and Controlled Goods certifications. The facility utilizes “heavy-metal-free” cathodic, epoxy electrocoat materials with low VOCs and HAPS. A state-of-the-art wastewater treatment system assures compliance with all environmental regulations.

Accountability

The plant is equipped with the MetoKote Inventory Tracking System (MITS2), which provides immediate “real time” data on the status of parts being coated. In addition, Cambridge offers full EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) capabilities.
