PPG Coatings Services’ San Luis Potosí plant was established in 2008 and serves more than 40 customers. Strategically positioned in the center of Mexico, the plant is located in one of the country’s largest industrial regions.

Capabilities:

The San Luis Potosí facility contains 42,000 square-feet (3,902m) of production area with four shipping and receiving docks. From small components to large parts, all products receive superior pretreatment and the latest corrosion-resistant coating. IATF 16949 registered since 2009, the San Luis Potosí facility offers the highest level of quality.

Offering two monorail electrocoating (e-coat) systems, one high-production indexing system able to coat parts up to 36" x 48" x 72" (0.91m x 1.22m x 1.83m) and one MikroKote indexing system able to efficiently process smaller parts with a part window of 18" x 36" x 36" (.45m x .91m x 91m).

Environmentally Friendly

The San Luis Potosí facility utilizes “heavy-metal-free” cathodic, epoxy electrocoat material with low VOCs and HAPS. A state-of-the-art wastewater treatment system assures compliance with all environmental regulations.

Accountability

The plant is equipped with the MetoKote Inventory Tracking System (MITS2), which provides immediate “real time” data on the status of parts being coated. In addition, the San Luis Potosí facility offers full EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) capabilities.
