In 1997, MetoKote UK Ltd.–Daventry became PPG Coatings Services’ first international location. Acquired from Pegasus Phosprime Limited, which began operations in 1972, this facility was known for having the largest trade electrocoat plant in Europe. Located in the area known as the Midlands, in the heart of the UK Industrial Belt, this facility has been optimally positioned for servicing the automotive and industrial sectors of this market for more than 40 years and its success has fostered the additional expansion of multiple international locations for PPG Coatings Services.

Capabilities:

The Daventry facility contains 80,000 square-feet of production area. All parts from small components to large receive superior pretreatment and the latest in corrosion resistant coating. IATF 16949-registered since 2006, the Daventry facility offers the highest level of quality.

One high-production, monorail electrocoating (e-coat) system able to coat parts up to 1.5m x 1.8m x 3m. The line includes spray chambers for pretreatment with a large e-coat tank containing over 75,000 liters of environmentally friendly material.

Environmentally Friendly

PPG Coatings Services’ Daventry facility utilizes “heavy-metal-free” cathodic, epoxy electrocoat materials with low VOCs and HAPS. A state-of-the-art wastewater treatment system enables compliance with all environmental regulations.

Accountability

The plant is equipped with the MetoKote Inventory Tracking System ((MITS2), which provides immediate “real time” data on the status of parts being coated. In addition, Daventry offers full EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) capabilities.
