Simplifying onboard maintenance application

Keeping a vessel protected requires regular maintenance, but coating repairs can take valuable time away from daily operations. Crews need application equipment that is easy to transport, simple to use and capable of supporting efficient maintenance at sea.

To help address these challenges, PPG is developing PPG PowerPack™, a portable, battery-powered coating application system designed to simplify onboard maintenance and give crews greater flexibility when performing coating repairs.

Coming in 2027

PPG PowerPack™ is designed to combine mobility, ease of use and application flexibility in a compact system for onboard maintenance. The goal is to help crews complete touch-up and repair work more efficiently while reducing the complexity associated with traditional application equipment.

Built to complement PPG ONE RANGE™

PPG PowerPack™ is being designed to work alongside the PPG ONE RANGE™ portfolio of marine maintenance coatings.

PPG AQUACOVER™ ONE system

Including a water-based primer and topcoat, this system was developed for interior applications and exterior use in environments classified up to C3. It is ideally suited for interior accommodation, machinery spaces and engine rooms, as well as selected exterior areas where efficiency and environmental responsibility are essential. The PPG AQUACOVER range of waterborne coatings have been developed to meet the increasing demand for crew health and sustainably advantaged products. It is particularly well suited for projects where pretreatment is limited, the local environment is sensitive, and fast, simple application is required.

PPG SIGMAFAST™ ONE 628 primer

A one-component, quick drying zinc phosphate primer designed for efficient onboard maintenance above the waterline. This surface tolerant alkyd primer offers excellent corrosion protection and easy application, with broad recoatability for maximum flexibility.

PPG SIGMARINE™ ONE 648 topcoat

Versatile, one-component gloss topcoat for easy onboard maintenance. PPG SIGMARINE ONE 648 coating is the latest addition to the reputable PPG Sigmarine series, a range of one-component topcoats and primers with almost 50 years of proven performance. It offers robust protection against corrosion and abrasion, helping to keep vessels productive throughout their operational life.

PPG SIGMADUR™ ONE topcoat

A versatile, one-component finish coat for easy onboard maintenance. PPG SIGMADUR™ ONE delivers excellent flow and leveling, quick drying, strong adhesion to existing coatings, and a durable high-gloss finish. Its superior color and gloss retention help maintain appearance over time, while the unlimited overcoating window supports efficient long-term maintenance.
