A Portable Color Measurement Solution You Can Take Anywhere

In today's on-demand world, refinish customers are looking for ways to identify and match colors as quickly and easily as possible.

To meet this need, PPG Refinish is offering the MeasureColor Mobile device to assist with color identification of most major PPG commercial topcoat lines. MeasureColor Mobile is a small, handheld color measurement device that captures surface color information, uploads the data to the cloud, and reports it back via an app on the registered user’s mobile device or tablet.

MeasureColor Mobile is a colorimeter not a spectrophotometer, meaning it does not create colors or formulas; it simply retrieves color data that has been uploaded to the associated color database to use as a comparison.

Both PPG and MeasureColor Mobile are committed to offering the most accurate color retrieval and color comparisons for major PPG and competitor brands, along with recognized industry standard colors. PPG continually evaluates the information in the platform and it is updated on a regular basis.

While PPG has partnered with MeasureColor Mobile to offer this service to our customers, the subscription program is solely managed by MeasureColor Mobile.

Here is how the program works:

  • Subscriptions are valid for 1 year and require renewal 
  • A new, updated device is provided each year when the subscription is renewed 
  • There is a nominal subscription fee which covers the cost of the device and shipping 
  • The subscription is linked to a single business email address upon registration
