Colorful Communities volunteers celebrating
For 10 years, the Colorful Communities program has revitalized PPG communities around the world.

In year 10, we celebrated the impacts that are possible when fresh color and paint hold purpose and transform the way people think and feel about their surroundings and experiences.

When we launched the program in 2015, we set out to unite the power of our PPG paint products with our employee volunteers to brighten neighborhoods and make a positive impact on the people who call those neighborhoods home. We sought to blend the best of who we are - our passionate, talented employees and our innovative products – to improve where we live and work. The momentum built within this journey and outcomes created are beyond what we anticipated.

Our employee volunteers in every region where PPG operates globally have led the way over the past 10 years. Together, we celebrate our volunteers and community partners who create brighter futures and live our purpose to protect and beautify the world. 

Increasing our commitment

In 2025, we extended the Colorful Communities program for another 10 years and committed $15 million to celebrate the next decade of beautifying and revitalizing communities.

10 Flagship Projects

The 10-year milestone marked a year of celebrations that featured 10 flagship Colorful Communities projects as part of more than 40 projects around the world throughout 2025. From Mexico to France to China and the U.S., each flagship project recognized the dedication of PPG volunteers and the transformational power of our products and colors. 

Celebrating with past partners

To build on the positive impacts of the program, PPG and the PPG Foundation will distributed $1 million in celebration grants to 100 previous Colorful Communities partners globally in 2025.

Celebrations around the world

PPG leaders transform Boys & Girls Club
Fort Lauderdale, Fla, USA
The 10-year celebration of the COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® program is underway with the completion of first flagship project of the year. Over 100 global PPG leaders and volunteers came together to revitalize the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County William E. Slaughter Club and S. Robert Levine Campus in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Bury, United Kingdom
What started as a simple request for a few cans of paint blossomed into a full-scale redecoration project designed to bring hope and comfort through color at the Bury Hospice. This project brought together volunteers from PPG, Morelli Group—PPG’s partner specializing in car body repair and automotive paints—hospice staff, and the local community.

Saultain, France
In June 2025, around 130 PPG employees, local community members and partners completed a project at a school in Estreux, near Saultain, France. Over three days, they transformed the Donat Godin School into a bright, inspiring place to learn. Volunteers refreshed both the inside and outside of the school with vibrant paint and artistic touches that will have a lasting impact on students, staff and families.

Pittsburgh, PA, USA
PPG volunteers completed a transformative makeover at Propel Hazelwood charter school. It marked PPG’s return to the school where, a decade ago, it became the first of nearly 600 global Colorful Communities projects.

Lewin Brzeski, Poland
One hundred PPG employee and community volunteers restored Publiczne Przedszkole nr 1, a preschool which serves 120 children and staff, after it was severely impacted by flooding in 2024.

Tianjin, China
This project brought together 100 volunteers from PPG’s Tianjin facility and Global Coatings Innovation Center to revitalize the Binhai TEDA Primary School's sunshine hall, library, gym and other areas through a colorful makeover and murals,.

Sumaré, Brazil
Before the walls of Sumaré, São Paulo, Brazil, were transformed into art as part of the “As Cores e a Cidade” (Colors and the City) art festival, they were a blank canvas prepared by PPG employee volunteers as part of a 10-year celebration project.

Borgomanero, Italy
With a splash of color and a spark of community, more than 100 PPG employees, family members and local volunteers recently joined forces in Borgomanero, Italy, to restore the Circolo di Santa Croce, a social and youth center for more than 2,000 residents.
