Highlights from PPG Colorful Communities projects completed in July through December 2025.  

Throughout 2025, the COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® program and our employee volunteers have celebrated a decade of transformative impact. One of the exciting ways we are marking this milestone is reinvesting a total of $1 million in celebration grants to past and current Colorful Communities partners with $10,000 grants to each recipient. 

We spent 2025 completing more than 40 Colorful Communities projects around the world, each one celebrating the milestones and moments that have beautified and revitalized our local communities for the past decade.

Take a look back at a past Colorful Communities project in the Asia Pacific region at the Nansha Primary School in Zhangjiagang, China.  

A once all-white school in Hilden, Germany, is now bursting with warmth and inspiration thanks to the latest PPG COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® project. The project is one of 10 global flagship projects celebrating 10 years of the Colorful Communities program.

Before the walls of Sumaré, São Paulo, Brazil, were transformed into art as part of the “As Cores e a Cidade” (Colors and the City) art festival, they were a blank canvas prepared by PPG employee volunteers as part of a 10-year celebration COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® project.

One hundred PPG employee and community volunteers restored Publiczne Przedszkole nr 1, a preschool which serves 120 children and staff, after it was severely impacted by flooding in 2024.

Through a PPG community engagement grant, a suite of new educational materials developed by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE)  is now available for teachers worldwide

Each October, we celebrate Manufacturing Month and the people, skills and innovation that drive production at PPG. We also highlight how the PPG Foundation and its partners inspire and equip the next generation of manufacturing talent.

With a splash of color and a spark of community, more than 100 PPG employees, family members and local volunteers recently joined forces in Borgomanero, Italy, to restore the Circolo di Santa Croce, a social and youth center for more than 2,000 residents.

PPG employee volunteers completed a colorful and transformative makeover at Binhai TEDA Primary School in Tianjin, China as part of the 10-year celebration of the COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® program.

PPG proudly celebrated future talent in the paint industry and our role as a sponsor of EuroSkills Herning 2025, Europe’s largest vocational education and skills competition.

PPG and the PPG Foundation are well on the way to giving a total of $1 million in celebration grant funding to 100 past and current Colorful Communities partners around the world. 

Across the globe, future leaders in the coatings and paint industry are testing their coatings application skills at national vocational competitions. Through funding, grants, technical support and product donations, PPG supports organizations like WorldSkills, to provide students with hands-on skills advancement that is needed for technical career placements.

To respond to rapid technological advancement and evolving global challenges, PPG prioritizes cultivating a skilled talent pool, particularly in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

A bioplastic made from potato starch and glycerin, natural dyes from plant waste, spinach leaves and beets that could be used in paints and inks. These future innovations are becoming realities for the top winners of the Universiada STEM education competition in Poland.
